What fantastic service at Stans. I rang yesterday afternoon asking if they sold kettles to use on gas cookers. I spoke to a lovely young lady, Jess, who was most patient and kind. The transaction over the phone was quick and painless. My kettle arrived today, only 24 hours from ordering. Move over Amazon, you have competition. Well done to all at Stans!

Some participants were uncomfortable with sitting cross legged for the duration (understandably if you are a new student to the discipline). When they stretched their legs in front of them, were told in no uncertain terms by Alan Adams/Ven. Ajahn Khemadhammo (monk in attendance), to cross their legs and were reminded or perhaps chided is a better, more descriptive word to use here; to remain completely still and silent.
I, and I am almost certain, everyone else in the room had expected a pleasant session of relaxation and perhaps a little enlightenment but to me, it seemed hubris reigned supreme with suffering (for newcomers) the order of the day. The right things were said even though the tomes were all wrong (be good to everything, reject material things and ambition etc.) whilst Alan sat on a chair in front of an Apple laptop.
I noted several attendees limping away after their session of discomfort. I personally don't believe anyone has to endure any kind of suffering at the beginning of their journey but do note this appears to be part of the storylines monks tell.
There was no chatting before or afterwards, no encouragement or information regarding the chants which were sung before and after or what was on offer. It would have been helpful if we were told what to expect, how to behave etc. (Don't address Ven. Ajahn Khemadhammo, mere mortals!)
We partake on a daily basis in the more modern adaptation of meditation, "Headspace". Co-founder, Andy Puddicombe spent around 10 years in Asia, training and living as a monk before returning to the UK. Andy has a soothing, friendly voice and never sounds like he is telling you off.
I am sad that I did not enjoy the experience and will try a different Temple elsewhere to see if my experience is better but will stick to Headspace for now!

When I again asked how I could have an AM appointment yet it wouldn't be looked at until 3 or 4pm he said 'the website lets you book whatever you like, it's rubbish' I said I wasn't happy, he shrugged his shoulders and said ' do you want it doing then?' I reiterated I'd made a special trip, he just said ' do you want it doing?'. I declined and asked him to cancel and reiterated how upset I was and how poor I felt the service was. Following a malfunctioning door lock I contacted Salop locks after seeing the advert in the Shrewsbury Chronicle and following a discussion with Gary he stated he be with me to check the mechanism late afternoon and true to his word he arrived that afternoon.
After checking the mechanism it was found that gear box was malfunctioning and was able to change it that day together with the barrel lock.

I recently had a service done on my Volvo S60. The service was started promptly with no issues. I was fully advised of what was found and the remedial work required to resolve the issues. The remedial work was started immediately with the parts readily available. I found the service and new parts expensive, but the counter argument is that Volvo parts are best quality. Just had delivered the most disgusting excuse for fish and chips I have ever experienced. Chips were hard and stale and fish batter was so hard I could scarcely break into it. He called me and said yes it's the fuel pipe etc, I was at work, I said fix it then he said he can't its looking difficult and that he has to go to the gym? I said well you have my car for a reason and you said it would be done? He said he is diabetic and has started the gym - which is nothing to do with my or what I am paying for.
Later I went in and finished early as he said he could have it done that evening - his own words. I got there and he said the part doesn't fit, the brackets for the bolts didn't align, and he immediately made out like I did it on purpose. He started saying you bought an 'after-market part' not an OM one, I had not idea want that meant. He said we can try bend the pipe - or in his own words modify it but not sure if it will work. He was saying it took him ages to get the part on, I said how much is it looking like - he said £100 now. I made calls to other people, friends, family, other garage guys because I had no idea. He was like I can take the pipe off but I will charge labour for that too etc. He said the modification may or may not work, I asked well how much will it be, and he said you are asking me questions I can't give an answer for. He is the mechanic though - who else is meant to know? Why not? He goes, I bet you any money you can't bend the pipe - I said that's not my job - its yours. Anyways we agreed he could do it the next day. I had my old garage guy on the phone who said he may have the official part and he will give it me for free, they both spoke too, I said to him, take off the AM part we can use the official part off a 2nd had car which the garage guy told me is in good condition. Nick said - no how do you know, can you see through the pipe etc. I said we can take off the AM part, and I will return and refund it because my cousins phoned the sellers and they said straight away to return it and get your money back. He said it will take you 30 days to get your money back there is no point, this is Nick the guy at one spec. He said he is normally done by 7 - which was rubbish as he had to do my cousins' car, and hours on Google didn't match up. He was saying I have to take the shockers off, the suspensions etc etc
I went in with my dad Saturday the next day, and asked what was going on with the car, 'Nick' looked annoyed and I was as a customer. He started saying I am giving him attitude, I bought the pipe without the rubber, etc I am calling him a liar, he started swearing and being quite aggressive. I kept calm but tbh, it was clear he was acting bullish and giving an awful service. He said I don't give a shit about customers 'f**k them' etc. He said I have had to reject a £300 job because of you, I don't need a car on my ramp taking up time. It went from £100 to him telling my dad £250, it was shambles. My dad said to stay in the car but I saw him bring my car out and walk off with a smirk/SNIGGER.
He was terrible, a rip-off, went from a quote of 60-80 to telling me he has to go gym for his diabetes meaning not complete my job, and had a reason for everything for me not to leave his premises to get it complete elsewhere - quite simply a billy bullshit. If I didn't need the car done I would never have gone with him. He overcomplicated it and charged a stupid sum. Not to mention his if you 'want a receipt its plus VAT if cash no VAT clearly obvious what he is doing.
His story changed every time, the trust wasn't there and at one point I thought there would be a physical fight the way he was acting. 60 - 70, then 100 an then 250 in cash.

So tried the Aldridge branch tonight. Order wrong, food missing. Unable to contact as just ringing out. 2 family members without food. £50 plus for food. Shocking. Avoid. Obviously unable to cope. So we are happy to support local businesses but they fail to deliver. Not good, disappointing, and never use again.
Have to say, the deep tissue massage was by far the best I've ever had in my life, sorted out my back and neck problems where others have failed, definitely recommend the lady who performed the massage.

Can't be trusted. This company cleaned the windows of our house in few occasions and all was good, until we found scratches in different places of many windows after their last job. We reported the issue to the company, but the owner did want to take responsibility. After this, we contacted two different window repair/replace companies to get quotes, and both agreed that the scratches in the windows were clearly done from cleaning (because of shape and direction of the marks).

I bought a bike from Canyon Bikes in Germany and had a problem with the Bosch battery. Canyon recommended that I took it to PCR E-Performance. They did a diagnostic check and found and repaired the problem. On the way back home I got a puncture and went straight back where they repaired it for me straight away. Excellent, friendly service. I will definitely be going back when the bike needs a service or I have any other problems.

Both the owner and their staff seem to have gotten into the mindset that just because a "Post Office" customer has purchased their postage online and wants to drop off their packages at their location, that they are the "enemy" of their small local business, this is obviously the wrong attitude to have and foster amongst your team. Due to this poor attitude, I am now motivated to write this review and to also never visit this local branch again.
This is what poor attitude and service does for your business, what was even more telling was that after I left the local post office a fellow "customer" that had overheard my service stopped me and told me that they also had experienced the same negative service when trying to drop off pre-purchased mail. So, I'm sure this alienation of potential customers is widespread and has been going on for a while.
So, a message to the owners, remember customers become customers as soon as they enter your premises, not just when they purchase from you, you represent the post office because you have that sign above your door, don't take out your small business challenges on the potential customers that could increase your revenue.
Just in case you don't read this, I will print it off and drop it off to your location.
